REQUIREMENTS

List of possible papers

  • Presentation Format: Dan has suggested a new style for the reading group; the goal is to avoid spending time preparing presentations; instead, spend the time on understanding the paper. Therefore, there will be no ppt presentations; instead, the person responsible for the paper will read it carefully, *annotate the paper* (mark paragraphs, underline sentences, add margin notes, etc.) The responsible person will make copies of the annotated paper and bring them to the meeting, where he/she will lead the reading of the paper form the annotated version.   Annotation can be highlighting the important and interesting points of the paper such as assumptions, conclusions, contributions, technical details (possibly, adding some details on the margin or the white board to explain the math) and the margins can be used also to write down questions for discussion, derive important arguments, or draw diagrams that may help understanding the paper.
Please inform Yuancheng as soon as possible about choice of paper and date to present. Papers and slots will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
